What I Wore: T-Shirt Dress

I have been in search for the perfect T-shirt dress for quite some time now. This gray, lightweight one from H&M is super cute, and, best of all was only $9.95! Because it is so basic, I decided to go overboard with these gladiator sandals for a chic, yet casual summer look.

Dress: H&M; Handchain: Nordstrom; Bracelet: Stella & Dot.

Summer Shopping List

Guys! I'm going to Hawaii! I leave on Friday and I'm so excited! I knew when I booked this trip that I would have to do quite a bit of shopping. We don't get much of a summer here in Chicago so it's not really a surprise to me that I only own one pair of non-Nike shorts. So, I've don't A LOT of shopping and have found some amazing items and deals! I have a lot of warm climate trips over the next year so... Ya know... Justification...

Lucky Cut-Off Shorts
I almost didn't try these shorts on. When I walked in the store they looked ridiculously short. But then I put them on and my mind was completely changed. They aren't too short and they don't look as long as they do in the picture. They're the best of both worlds. I have a love/hate relationship with the unfinished edge, but I'll get over it. I bought them in the blue shown here and in the white denim! And guess what? They're on sale for only $35!!

Madewell Silk Daylight Dress
This dress! Let me tell you... i'ts almost backless, but not completely. There's enough of a cut-out that it feels sexy and breezy without being too open. I cannot wait to wear this with a stacked heel!

Target Coral Stripe Twist Bandeau
My sister made a comment the other day that all of my professional and casual clothes are monotone and neutral, and that all of my workout clothes and swimsuits are fun colors. I've decided that's the way I like it!

Target Push Up Bandeau Bikini Top

Target Hipster Swim Bottom
I can't wait to mix and match all of the tops and bottoms I have. I've probably completely over packed swimsuits, but they're all so cute! I just can't help myself. And with 7 days of swimming... a girl needs her options!

Babaton Everly Camisole
My favorite tank top is finally on sale! I love this Babaton tank so much. I layer it under t-shirts or sweaters, or with blazers and jackets. I own it in black and white, and it's my go-to layering piece... especially in the summer.

Babaton Corbett Romper
I tried out the romper thing last year and wasn't impressed... I only wore it once, so I thought I was done. But then I saw this one on the sale rack at Aritzia and decided to give it another go and I fell in love! It has pockets so it's practical, and there's no camel toe, so that's always a plus!

Loft Striped Summer Softened Shirt
If there were one shirt that I would recommend you pick up for summer, this would be it. I LOVE IT! I cannot wait to wear this with white jean shorts, cognac sandals and a swimsuit. But the outfit options don't stop there. This is probably my favorite purchase for my trip.

Via Spiga Baris Leather Sandal
Grandma always says that if you find something you love, you buy it in different colors... or all of the colors in my case. I now own these sandals by Via Spiga in brown and black. They are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in. I wore them yesterday with black skinny pants and a white silk blouse and can't wait to wear them with the black Madewell dress above. And these are on sale for 40% off!!

Ted Baker London Stripe Cover-Up Tunic
Ahhhhhh! I found this Ted Baker cover-up on and loved it immediately. I decided to hold off on buying it to see if there were any other cover-ups that caught my eye and when none did, I immediately went back to buy it. And guess what... it's on sale for 30% off!

I can't wait to get to Hawaii and share pictures from my vacation. Make sure you follow us on Instagram for pictures everyday (@GirlsAndCity). Happy summer shopping!

What I Wore: Printed Pants

I get a lot of crop from my sisters about the amount of black that I wear. But honestly, it's so easy! Like throwing together this outfit the morning after the Blackhawks won the Stabley Cup (I was in no shape to be putting together anything fancy!), was easy and cute!

What I Wore: Overalls Bandwagon

I tried to fight off the overalls trend for as long as I could but gave in last week when I found this cute pair at Akira Chicago. Matching it with a black crop, it'll be a perfect look for a hot summer night.

Here's how I wore it:

Overalls: Akira Chicago; Crop: Nordstrom BP; Sandals: Steve Madden.

What I Wore: Beach Cover-up

Ever shop H&M, Zara or TopShop and think, 'this is a cute dress.' Then pull it off the rack only to realize it's actually a beach cover up? I recently had that experience at H&M and decided regardless if it was meant for the beach or not, I was going to dress it up, pair it with some cute sandals and wear it around town to dinner.

Here's how I did it:

Cover Up: H&M; Shoes: Nordstrom; Hat: TopShop; Bracelet: Francesca's.

What I Wore: My New Favorite Romper

I've officially found it -- my go-to romper for this summer! I broke out this Tularosa piece on a visit to Florida a few weeks back, and I absolutely love it. Tularosa offers such a chic bohéme vibe, and this romper is no different. I will be wearing it all summer long!

Here's how I wore it:

Romper: Tularosa; Sandals & Bracelet: Tory Burch.

What I Wore: Chambray

I picked up a chambray button down by Topshop from Nordstrom last month and I have been loving it! This has easily become a staple in my wardrobe this spring and I've been wearing it so many ways.

One of the things I love about this one is that as a bustier girl, the buttons don't pop! The length is great too, but I've been all about the front tuck lately. You'll see more of that soon :)

Shirt // Topshop
Pants // Banana Republic
Belt // J.Crew
Shoes // J.Crew
Watch // Michael Kors

Sorry for the bathroom pics! A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! I've been wearing this with dark jeans, black jeans and booties and so many other ways. I can't wait to share them with you!

What I Wore: New Rag & Bone Cut-offs

This week, I traveled to Longboat Key, Florida, for a little R&R at a private beach house. This trip allowed me the perfect opportunity to break out some of the summer clothes and beach wear that I've been DYING to put on since last summer.

Since it was a vacay, I wanted to be laid back and comfortable. Here's one super casual look with my favorite new Rag & Bone cut-offs.

Top: Urban Outfitters; Shorts: Rag & Bone; Sandals: Tory Burch; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban.

What I Wore: Blush & Cat-eyes

In getting ready for a trip to Florida, I started shopping around for some new shades and discovered this awesome eyewear company out of Australia called Quay. I purchased a 'cat-eyed' pair and am totally obsessed. I decided to wear them out on a sunny Sunday afternoon to the ballet, and paired them with this blush top from Zara and white jeans.

Here's what I wore:

Top: Zara; Pants: Urban Outfitters; Sunglasses: Quay; Bag: YSL; Shoes: Louboutin.
